The Red Cross has been a household name  known worldwide for helping those in need during times of peach and crisis. The Oregon chapter started in 1917 when concerned community members joined together to help their neighbors during one of the world’s greatest disaster’s, World War I. The group is led by volunteers and helps prepare people for disasters and comes to their aid when needed. Whether it’s a tornado, flood, earthquake, riots, or terrorist attack, they are here for you.

You may never think to visit their website, but we suggest you do. It has a wealth of information listed on it, from disaster tips for how to survive an earthquake to being able to purchase family emergency kits, take a moment to read and educate yourself. The Red Cross is inspiring to us. They help people in need and we should all be ready to help ourselves and others when the time comes.

Don’t forget that they run mainly on your donations, so give a little so others will get a lot when they need it most.
